I loved this half day city tour as my preference was to travel by scooter as pillion which was good fun in itself. ). The tour consisted of the War Remnants Museum, the Reunification Palace, the Notre Dame Cathedral, Saigon Post Office, a local market, and the Emperor Jade Pagoda. The tour took 4 hours in all from 9am until 1pm. Set off early if you want to see inside all of the venues as between 11am and 1pm, they close for lunch and entry is not permitted between those times. If you go for a private tour, you have full flexibility over how long you would like to spend at each of the landmarks. I cannot fault the tour guide who was a good laugh making a few jokes and sharing his knowledge of the points of interest and museum artefacts.

We were picked up in our hotel and with a very small group and Nam our guide was just so full of information and it was so interesting to see the places that were affected by the war. The reunification palace, Notre Dame cathedral and the old post office showing the old architecture of old Saigon , the war remnants museum with the History of what the Vietnamese call the American War. This is such an eye opener and sad as well it was well worth the tour.would recommend this tour

My husband and I booked our tour via the hotel, we thought we would be travelling via a bus, however two young ladies arrived on their scooters. We had the most amazing afternoon, their extensive knowledge and perfect English gave us great insight into this beautiful city. We booked this tour very late in the evening for collection the following morning at 8.00am from our hotel. From there we were taken in an open-top jeep (a very old one but functional) to the Post office, Cathedral, then onto the War Remnants Museum and Independence Palace, followed by a quick tour around the city and a temple visit. Our tour guide was excellent, he spoke really good English and was very friendly and very knowledgeable. I picked this private tour because it was visiting all the places I wanted to see in the Saigon and gave us time to wader around them all. Water and umbrellas were provided (both were needed). Don't be put off by a jeep tour in favour of a minibus, taxi or car, you get a fantastic view of everything around you, which you wouldn't if you had a roof ! We had a jeep for three people and you have to be fairly fit to climb into the back! I would highly recommenced this tour.
